MEET THERESA MUELLER
Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork
According to Webster, the word “empower” is to give official authority or legal power to. What I want most is to educate people so that they ask the right questions regarding their health and can then make the right choices for themselves. Education allows the exchange of information that can be transformed into something practical, useable and ultimately improves your life or the life others.
Now that is exciting to me! That’s empowerment!
My passion is helping both human and horses! Because horses have many of the same muscles as us, it is easy for me to understand how their muscle tension occurs and how to address it. There are a variety of modalities I use to express my passion: the physical presence of gentle touch, one-on-one sessions to review a treatment plan, conduct an equine clinic, group presentation, and volunteer work for an equine rescue or a breast cancer walk.
And speaking of education, let me tell you about mine… I have a BA in education (no surprise!) and an MA in Criminal Justice. I am Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage & Body Works as a Massage Therapist, Certified Manual Lymph Drainage and Complete Decongestive Therapy (in other words I am a Certified Lymphedema Therapist), Certified in Human Sports Massage, Reiki 1, Certified Bio Mechanical Technician-Spinal Touch Therapy, Certified Equine Sports Massage Therapist, and Certified Nutrition Consultant. I spent 3 years participating in the Equine Program at Centenary College in Hackettstown, NJ in preparation for my equine massage career. In March 2008 I obtained my Equine Lymphedema Therapist Certification from Hannover Veterinary School, in Hannover Germany. If you haven’t figured it out yet, I will be continuing my education journey to raise my awareness, knowledge, skill and provide you the best and highest professional standards available. Come join me on this journey and see just what empowerment is all about.
MEET PAUL MUELLER
Certified Equine Sports Massage Therapist
After spending 30 plus years in the facilities engineering field, I understand the elements of stress. As a second career, I decided to choose something far more relaxing and rewarding. No matter how many equine massages I perform, my greatest joy is watching how the horse responds and how they express their appreciation. There’s an old saying, “You wear your emotions on your sleeve.” During the massage, you can actually begin to see the tension release from the horse. They are demonstrative in expressing themselves; they too wear their emotions on their sleeve and they let you know right away how they feel.
Like my wife, I am also passionate about educating our clients about the benefits of massage. In March 2008 I received my certification as an Equine Lymphedema Therapist from Hannover Veterinary School in Hannover, Germany. After observing numerous horses at shows, it has become apparent to me the majority of the horses could use some extra tender loving care. Many of them are not working up to their potential due to soft tissue/muscle tension. I see in their gait, how they carry their head and many times I see it in their faces.
The benefits of equine massage are immediate. This translates to an improved performance and attitude often within in minutes. What most people don’t realize is the potential their horse has and they are truly athletes unto themselves. My job is to educate the owner. If you want to improve your horse’s performance and attitude, try giving them an equine massage. They will reward you in ways you won’t believe!
