Equine Lymphedema Clinic
Hannover, Germany
Mar 25-30 2008

In the February update, we told you we had been accepted to attend the Equine Lymphedema Course held at the Hannover Medical/Veterinary School in Hannover, Germany. We completed this intense course on Sunday, March 30, 2008!

We are proud to announce that Paul and I were the first Americans to attend and are the first American Manual Lymphatic Equine Massage Therapists in the United States! We did our country proud and put America on the map as being a country that is open to treating equine lymphedema utilizing the Manual Lymph Drainage process of massage, wrappings and a manual lymph grooming technique.

The use of Equine Manual Lymphatic Drainage can be used as a prophylactic point of view for many common equine conditions. Take the Equine Lymphedema Quiz and raise your awareness on how this therapy may benefit your horse.

Many thanks and acknowledgements go out to the following people:

Gentle Touch Massage is committed to raising the awareness of this great therapy in the United States. Every Equine Clinic will include a section on the lymphatic system, benefits of Manual Lymph Drainage, as well as the Layman?s Manual Lymph Drainage Grooming Technique!

Dear Horse Lover,

While visiting my daughter in New Hampshire recently, I came across the attached article in the local newspaper. My husband and I decided to see if we could be of assistance to this equine rescue organization.

Since my husband and I are certified equine massage therapists, we offered our skills and assistance to the Equine Protection of North America (E.P.O.N.A) to defray some of the costs associated with this rescue organization. On Saturday , November 10 we will be demonstrating equine massage and offering equine massages to the locals to help raise money for this worthy cause at Inspirational Farm in Epping, New Hampshire.
I am seeking your assistance at this time. Listed below are items E.P.O.N.A can use. If you would like to help, please contact us at info@gentletouchmassage.net. We will be going up to visit family in sometime in December and will bring your donations. You can call Theresa at (201) 874-0914 (cell) or Paul at (973) 902-6045 and we will arrange to pick up your donations or call our business phone at (973) 853-0164.

Brandon King of East Hanover, NJ on Snickers (Paint Mare): "This massage greatly impacted Snickers while we were waiting for the race. She was more relaxed but also her concentration was high. Yet, during the race, her stride was longer and her turns were more fluid. Overall, the massage improved her performance and my time."
